WHO ARE WE?
ArtPAC supports the arts through political action.
The greatness of any civilization can be measured by the greatness of its art. The United States is no exception as the birthplace of jazz, stand-up comedy, graffiti, hip-hop, film, television, the modern theatrical musical, and countless revolutions in the visual arts. And no city has played a more important role in these world-changing, generation-defining movements than Los Angeles. Angelenos are the stewards who develop and export our proudest American legacies to the rest of the world.
ArtPAC sees that stewardship as a sacred trust between artists, our local community, the country, and the world. Our mission is to maintain and deepen the role of Los Angeles as the world’s cultural center through the channels of our local government. We support the arts by making sure that those who run our cities and county support the arts. ArtPAC’s politics are simply “pro-artist.” A politician who supports the arts is a politician who we can support.
ArtPAC is run by artists and political professionals. We know what artists need, and we know how the government of Los Angeles can help meet those needs. We are a volunteer organization and 100% of funds raised are used to support artists through political action. ArtPAC’s strategic goal for the 2024 election cycle is to build upon our record of success endorsing winning candidates in the Los Angeles County area. This upcoming class of local candidates will challenge municipalities to consider artists’ communities and implement artists' priorities into the policy framework in 2025.
